Georgia, a small transcontinental nation in the Caucasus, is known for its rich culture dating back for thousands of years. The nation is known for being one of the first countries in the world to adopt Christianity as an official religion, in the 4th century. The medieval Kingdom of Georgia produced world-renowned iconography and art, and today the nation is known for these things as well as its folk music, wine, and unique foods. Unfortunately, Georgia is now also known for the 2008 South Ossetia military conflict with Russia. Hopefully, the battle will soon end, and Georgia can be known once again for its rich culture and stunning landscape, not for its struggles.
